Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee Member Elections 2024-2027

An opportunity to join our vibrant and diverse committee representing GPs in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Current LMC GP committee members will complete their terms of office in May 2024.

Elections are held every three years and all practising GPs (partners, salaried and locums) working in primary medical services within NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICS are eligible for nomination and election.

Our LMC is driven by a committee of 20 GPs elected democratically by member GPs in our practices. Clinical leadership is crucial and supported by our Liaison Team.

We need a strong, committed membership of GPs and this is your opportunity to make a lasting difference.

If you want to serve your professional colleagues and promote the interests of general practice, then consider putting yourself forward for election and join our committee.

Members will serve a three-year term.

I am interested, what would I do as an elected committee member?

Your role as a LMC committee member includes:

• Acting as a local representative of the LMC in your GP community.
• Canvassing the views of GPs in your area and reflecting them in discussion at LMC company meetings.
• Helping to form national policy.
• Personal and career development opportunities.
• Opportunities to work flexibly around your needs and that of the LMC.

Is the role remunerated?

The LMC believes in paying GPs who undertake work on its behalf and does so at an hourly rate. LMC members also receive a fixed fee for attendance at regular LMC company meetings.

How do I apply?

Please refer to the LMC Committee Member Role Description 24 27 and complete the electronic nomination form. If you are standing in the election, you must get a GP from your Place Based Partnership (PBP) to endorse your nomination.

Existing Committee members who wish to hold office for a further three years will also need to complete and return a nomination form.
