Trailblazers Fellowship, Nottinghamshire General Practice Phoenix Programme
|Organisation||Nottinghamshire General Practice Phoenix Programme|
Do you want to be a Nottingham Trailblazer Fellow?
- 4 clinical sessions
- 2 education and development sessions
- Personal budget for certificate/diploma
- 12 month fixed term contract
- Can be combined with New to Practice Scheme if eligible (CCT August 2019 and beyond)
The Trailblazer Fellowship Scheme is an exciting opportunity that aims to support GPs and practices working in areas of health deprivation. This type of healthcare is intellectually stimulating and extremely rewarding, but might also have challenges that can seem daunting early in your career. Being a Trailblazer Fellow will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to work in areas of poverty and is a great way to start to build a portfolio career and develop a sought after special interest.
The fellowships are 12 month fixed term contracts for GPs within their first five years post CCT and will offer a combination of clinical sessions and two paid education and development sessions. In this protected time you will take part in a virtual national education programme relating to health inequalities, learn about local services available for patients with complex health needs relating to deprivation, form a supportive peer group with other Trailblazer fellows and undertake some relevant project work with your practice or PCN. You will also have access to a personal budget to spend on your own learning needs.
There will be three fellowships based within the Mary Potter Health Centre in Hyson Green, Nottingham. The fellowship will comprise of four clinical GP sessions at either:
- Fairfields Practice: https://www.fairfieldspractice.nhs.uk/
- The Forest Practice: https://www.theforestpractice.co.uk/
- High Green Medical Practice: https://www.highgreenmedicalpractice.co.uk/
The fellowships are being co-ordinated locally by the Phoenix Programme but are a HEE initiative.
We are looking for enthusiastic and outstanding GPs to apply for these fellowships that will start in November. Please send a CV and a covering letter detailing why you are interested in the Trailblazer fellowship to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have a preference which practice you want to do your clinical sessions with, please state this in your letter. Any queries about the scheme can also be directed to the same email address.
For an informal discussion with the practice hosts please contact:
