The Calverton Practice

GP(s) required to cover maternity leave

Job Description:
The Calverton Practice is based in the centre of Calverton and provides medical services to approximately 9,700 patients located in Calverton and the surrounding villages of Woodborough, Lambley, Epperstone and Oxton.

The team consists of six GP Partners, three salaried GPs and as a training practice we generally have two GP Registrars. The Partners are supported by a team of five nurses, a practice paramedic, an assistant practitioner, a healthcare assistant and a large administration team. We are a friendly Practice with a mixed patient demographic and small geographical area whose aims are to provide excellent medical care to our patients. We have a low home visit rate. There is a very strong team spirit within the Practice which we consider to be one of our many strengths and were also voted in the top 10 Practices in Nottingham in 2017. Our last CQC inspection rated us as an outstanding Practice.

As a dispensing Practice we dispense to approximately one third of our patient population, providing a medicines delivery service to housebound patients.

We work closely with our one local care home and have good relationships with our community colleagues holding regular MDT meetings.

The post holder is directly responsible to the Practice Manager for all organisational and administrative issues and the Partners for all clinical issues.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a GP(s) to help us to cover whilst two of our GPs are off on maternity leave. In total we have 11 sessions which require cover and, therefore, potentially can be flexible with any interested candidates. The post-holder(s) will provide personal medical services, managing a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
